Vet Day

The Girls are under the care of Dr. Quinn at Bay Animal Hospital in Manhattan Beach.  Dr. Quinn (Medicine Woman) gave them the full workup, and I am still trying to figure out how to get my scanned paperwork to post here so you can see it all.

In the meantime, the short(ish) story is this:

Lucy

  • Being treated for Demodex, a non-contagious overpopulation of naturally-occurring mites, which generally happens when their immune system is compromised.   She is on Ivervectin, and Simplicef, and skin is rapidly improving.  Treatment will likely continue for 2 months.
  • Now current on all shots
  • The shelter deferred her spaying until they are back to full health, so we need to get that done later.

Charlie

  • ditto on the Demodex, same  as Lucy
  • Stool tested positive for Giardia and Coccidia, was treated, and she is now doing great.
  • Now current on all shots
  • ditto on spaying, same as Lucy
  • has an eye condition called Entropion, causing eyelids to fold inward and eyelashes to scrape against eyeball
